Requirement

The challenge

  • The Southeast Asia business has 16 operating units in 15 countries.
  • Primary sales information is captured in JD Edwards, and financials and allocations in SAP.
  • Secondary sales and distribution information is captured in a cloud-based solution which sales reps access through PDAs during their van sales across the channels.
  • The business needed visibility of combined primary and secondary sales and financials data.
Solution

What we did

  • Developed a sales data mart which combines data from JD Edwards, SAP and the cloud-based distribution software.
  • Sales data consolidated and presented across the board.
  • Dashboards developed for management.
  • End users enabled to build their own reports using self-service BI.
  • Data captured in near real time (under 15 minutes).

Outcomes

What changed for the client

  • The daily sales report, critical for management decision-making, is automated and saves a lot of time.
  • Decision-makers gained visibility across channels, routes, products, brands, sales reps and discounts.
  • For the first time, sales data was used to plan route optimisation and savings.
  • Important metrics such as cost per call and value per call are used to optimise the entire secondary-sales process.
